THEON SENSORS officially announces the contract award  for the Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG) program  of the US Marine Corps.

THEON SENSORS held a press conference in Athens on 10th October, officially announcing the contract award by its US partner company HARRIS Night Vision (now ESA – Night Vision) for the supply of the Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG) to the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The press conference was honored with the presence of Mr. Adonis Georgiadis , Minister of Development & Investment of the Hellenic Government, Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt, US Ambassador to Greece and Thomas Styner, Senior Director at ESA – Night Vision. 

THEON SENSORS in close collaboration with its strategic partner HARRIS Night Vision USA (recently acquired by Elbit Systems of America / ESA) successfully participated in an international tender issued by the US Marine Corps for the supply of the Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG), which resulted in the award of a $249 million USD IDIQ contract, with more than 14,000 systems expected to be delivered in the coming 5 years.

The contract was awarded by the US Department of Defense (see corresponding announcement: https://www.defense.gov/Newsroom/Contracts/Contract/Article/1954307/) at the beginning of September 2019 with deliveries starting in spring 2020 and concluding in September 2024.

THEON SENSORS will provide to its American industrial partner its “NYX” Dedicated Night Vision Binocular in a Semi Knock Down Kit format, with final assembly and customer shipment of the complete SBNVG solution being performed by ESA at their Night Vision production facility in Roanoke, US. Besides a number of critical system accessories, which will also be supplied by THEON SENSORS, the complete SBNVG solution will also include the ECOTI Enhanced Clip-on Thermal Imager from SAFRAN-Optics1.
